In 2009, 34 organizations received $700,000 through Disney's Helping Kids Shine Grants. To date, more than $9 million has been awarded to deserving non-profit agencies in Central Florida.

Over the past 18 years, Walt Disney World Resort has raised more than $3 million for Junior Achievement.

In 2008, Walt Disney World Cast Members filled more than 6,000 backpacks with donated supplies and delivered them to several Orange County schools and contributed more than 303,000 supplies to A Gift for Teaching.

Walt Disney World Resort is the largest corporate contributor in the area to the Heart Of Florida United Way, with Disney Cast Members donating approximately $3 million annually to the organization.

On September 19, 2007, The Walt Disney Company and Florida Children's Hospital revealed a promise to the community and laid the foundation for the "Children's Hospital of the Future," with the announcement of a $10 million contribution to Florida Children's Hospital from Walt Disney World and Disney Worldwide Outreach.

In partnership with Keep Orlando Beautiful, Disney VoluntEARS took part in the 2008 Florida Coastal Cleanup. Cast Members and their families removed more than 3,500 pounds of trash and storm debris from the shores of Lake Fran in Orlando's MetroWest neighbohood .

More than 120,000 fifth graders have participated in Jiminy Cricket's Environmentality Challenge, a statewide program organized by Walt Disney World Resort and the State of Florida that encourages fifth graders to think and act environmentally.

To date, more than 11,000 students have been named Disney Dreamers and Doers. The program recognizes exceptional students throughout Central Florida for demonstrating outstanding character development.

Disney generated approximately 34 percent of the Tourist Development Taxes collected in Orange County and approximately 25 percent of these taxes in Osceola County in 2008.

Disney paid $80 Million in ad valorem taxes to Orange County. That is more than the next 10 highest taxpayers combined.

Disney paid or collected more than $435 million in state sales, use and communications taxes and local resort taxes in 2008.

In 2008, the Disney Harvest program donated more than 58,000 pounds
of prepared food per month – valued at more than $3.9 million – as part of a program run by the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Disney VoluntEARS collected more than 30,000 toys to donate to Toys for Tots last holiday season.

In 2008, Cast Members donated more than 3,500 units of blood at on-site blood drives.
