Is it time to say good bye to Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress?

By Bigbearsg

In the summer 1964 my family went on a trip to the East Coast. The only things I remember from the trip is, going to Arlington Nation Cemetery, to the grave of Pres. John F. Kennedy and going to the 1964-65 New York Worlds Fair.

At the fair, there is only three thing I remember riding and loving, they are "It's a Small World" and "The Carousel of Progress" (the other was Tire Farris Wheel). So any time I'm at the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland (before it was moved to MK)those were the first rides for me.

It's a Small World well always be at the Parks. But what about Carousel of Progress is it time to say good bye?

The newer generation would say yes "it's boring" it's time to go. The older generation (me) would say no it part of are lives and Walt Disney life.

It is about the only thing in, The Magic Kingdom. we know Walt had his hands on, from start to finish his finger print are all over "The Carousel Of Progress" from beginning to the end. We watched as Walt, showed us how it was made on The Wonderful World of Disney. Disneyland has the original "It's a Small World" and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom has the original "Carousel of Progress" (Disneyland had the original then it was moved to the Magic Kingdom).

Its the best rest stop in TomorrowLand 20 min of A/C and a nice seat. Yes the last stage needs to be up dated but it's the progress that has taken place in are live's.

Every time I see survey person in front of Carousel, I think oh no you are not thinking about removing it. This is a ride that should never go away, not till I'm in the MK in the sky.
