2010 Theatrical Releases from Walt Disney Studios

The following films will be released in movie theatres nationwide from Walt Disney Studios this year:

•”When in Rome” (Touchstone Pictures) – Jan. 29
Directed by Mark Steven Johnson, starring Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Will Arnett, Alexis Dziena, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Kate Micucci, Bobby Moynihan, with Danny DeVito and Anjelica Huston.
“An ambitious young New Yorker (Kristen Bell), disillusioned with romance, takes a whirlwind trip to Rome, where she defiantly plucks magic coins from a fountain of love, inexplicably igniting the passion of those who threw them in: a sausage magnate (Danny DeVito), a street magician (Jon Heder), an adoring painter (Will Arnett) and a self-admiring model (Dax Shepard). But when a charming reporter (Josh Duhamel) pursues her with equal zest, how will she know if his love is the real thing?”

•”Alice in Wonderland” in Disney Digital 3Dand IMAX 3D (Walt Disney Pictures) – March 5
Directed by Tim Burton, starring Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Matt Lucas and Mia Wasikowska with a voice cast featuring Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Christopher Lee, Paul Whitehouse and Barbara Windsor
“An epic 3D fantasy adventure, ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ is a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. 19-year-old Alice returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat and, of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.”

•”The Last Song” (Touchstone Pictures) – April 2
Directed by Julie Ann Robinson, starring Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Bobby Coleman, Hallock Beals, Nick Lashaway, Carly Chaikin, Nick Searcy, Kate Vernon, with Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear
“Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks’ (’A Walk to Remember,’ ‘The Notebook’) latest novel, ‘The Last Song’ is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (Greg Kinnear) gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenage daughter (Miley Cyrus), who’d rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common—music—in a story of family, friendship, secrets and salvation, along with first loves and second chances.”

•”Oceans” (Disneynature) – April 22
Directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud with a narrator to be determined.

•”Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” (Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films) – May 28
Directed by Mike Newell, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton and Alfred Molina
“An epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia. A rogue prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess (Gemma Arterton), and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time—a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.”

•”Toy Story 3″ in Disney Digital 3Dand IMAX 3D (Disney-Pixar) – June 18
Directed by Lee Unkrich with a voice cast featuring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Estelle Harris, John Morris, Laurie Metcalf, R. Lee Ermey, Jodi Benson, Ned Beatty, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, Whoopi Goldberg and Michael Keaton

Directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, Monica Bellucci, and Toby Kebbell
“An innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil. Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). •”You Again” (Walt Disney Pictures) – Sept. 24
Directed by Andy Fickman and starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, Kristin Chenoweth, Victor Garber and Betty White
“No matter how old you are, you never get over high school. Successful PR pro Marni (Kristen Bell) heads home for her older brother’s (Jimmy Wolk) wedding and discovers that he’s marrying her high school arch nemesis (Odette Yustman), who’s conveniently forgotten all the rotten things she did so many years ago. Then the bride’s jet-setting aunt (Sigourney Weaver) bursts in and Marni’s not-so-jet-setting mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes face to face with her own high school rival. The claws come out and old wounds are opened in this crazy comedy about what happens when you’re reunited with the one person you’d like to forget.”

•”Secretariat” (Walt Disney Pictures) – Oct. 8
Directed by Randall Wallace and starring Diane Lane, John Malkovich, Dylan Walsh, Scott Glenn, Dylan Baker, Margo Martindale, Nelsan Ellis, Otto Thorwarth, Fred Thompson, AJ Michalka, Kevin Connolly, Eric Lange, and James Cromwell
“Based on the true story, ‘Secretariat’ chronicles the spectacular journey of the 1973 Triple Crown winner. Housewife and mother Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) agrees to take over her ailing father’s Virginia-based Meadow Stables, despite her lack of horse-racing knowledge. Against all odds, Chenery—with the help of veteran trainer Lucien Laurin (John Malkovich)—manages to navigate the male-dominated business, ultimately fostering the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years and what may be the greatest racehorse of all time.”

Directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno and featuring a voice cast starring Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy
“A princess stolen from her parents’ castle as a baby, Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore) is locked in a hidden tower longing for adventure. Now an imaginative and determined teenager, she takes off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade with the help of a dashing bandit (voice of Zachary Levi). •”Tron: Legacy” in Disney Digital 3Dand IMAX 3D (Walt Disney Pictures) – Dec. 17
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Beau Garrett and Michael Sheen
“Sam Flynn (Garret Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Qora (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”
